Victoria Martin: Math Team Queen - Director

Victoria Martin: Math Team Queen is a play about gender and power dynamics that come into play when a popular highschool sophomore, Victoria Martin, joins the all male Longwood High School math team.

I directed a workshop production of this show at the University of Redlands as part of their “May term” for a class I taught: Theatre for Social Change: Math, Gender, and Theatre.  This class, about the history and principals of community-based theater, toured the show to a Juvenile Detention Center and local middle schools. In both locations, performers/students and I co-lead workshops about math and learning styles.
